Justin Timberlake & Elton John Say No Truth to American Idol Rumors; Jessica Simpson Being Considered as Judge?

Neither Justin Timberlake nor Elton John can picture themselves as a judge on American Idol. They say they’re just too darn busy to fill Simon Cowell's shoes on the show.

Earlier this week, The Hollywood Reporter mentioned Justin and Elton as two possible candidates for the gig. However, a rep for JT tells Deadline.com the idea that Justin would be able to join the show on a full-time basis is “just silly,” due to his busy movie career. Similarly, Elton’s British rep claims to the same website that the speculation is “absolute rubbish.” 

OK, if Justin and Elton don’t have time for American Idol, what about Jessica? TMZ.com reports Jessica Simpson has met with Idol execs about the position. TMZ further states that Idol will make an announcement regarding its panel of judges sometime “around the beginning of September.”
