The 6th annual Y Community Day/Family Fishing Derby (Family Fun)
Time: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Location: YMCA Camp Sherwin, 8600 West Lake Road

Registration begins at 8 a.m. Y Community Day/Family Fishing Derby is free and open to the public.“This free community event at YMCA Camp Sherwin is a terrific family recreational activity,” says Camp Sherwin Business Director Leslie Sulz. “Shaper Pond is fully stocked and our 70-acre campus includes an outdoor swimming pool, beach access, picnic areas and recreational courts including bocce, volleyball and basketball.”Youth should bring their own fishing pole for the Derby; the Y will provide the bait. Derby prizes are awarded at 11 a.m. which is followed by a hot dog lunch for Derby participants. For more information, call 774-9416.

The Erie Chamber Orchestra, in residency at Gannon University, and under the direction of Bruce Morton Wright will perform “Music in the Air” Concerts on Friday, July 30th and Saturday July 31st, 2010.at 8:00 pm. This year the concerts are being presented in conjunction with the Sisters of Saint Joseph 150th anniversary celebration. The Friday Classical Concert features Carolina Melchiori – String Bass.
