House Republican leaders celebrated the passage of the One Big Beautfiul Bill Act on Thursday, calling it “nation-shaping legislation,” and telling “all hard-working Americans” that “this bill is for you.”

The bill passed the lower chamber by a 218-214 vote after a contentious two days of debate without any changes to the Senate’s amended version, which needed a tiebreaking vote by Vice President JD Vance on Tuesday to keep the signature legislation of President Donald Trump’s second term afloat.

“Republicans in Congress have succeeded in our mission to enact President Trump’s America First agenda,” Rep. Lisa McClain, R-Mich., chair of the House Republican Conference, said in a joint statement Thursday with Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., and Majority Whip Tom Emmer, R-Minn.
